About Me

Hi Everyone! My name is Lorrie Briggs, I have created this website, Simply Raw Simply Delicious, to share and show you some great ways to bring raw healthy foods into you life. Some of you I will be able to come into your homes and work with you one on one and some of you will enjoy using my website to explore some different ways to eat healthier.


Four years ago, I discovered eating healthier and introduced raw foods into my everyday life. My food intake prior to this wonderful change was drive-thrus, microwave dinners, and anything that came in a box that all I had to do was add water or milk! I loved my junk food, or at least I thought I did, until I started having some health issues that I couldn’t get rid of. I was having headaches just about everyday that caused me to take a prescription for them, I never slept through the night and my sleep was always restless. I just felt depressed all the time, for no reason. I was put on anti-depressants and tried all kinds of over the counter medication for my lack of sleep, but nothing seemed to be helping how I felt. I would have never thought that the foods I was eating could possibly be causing all of my aches and pains, until a friend suggested I make a change in the foods I chose to eat.


This was a challenge for me and was not an overnight transition, but I was really worried about these health issues that I just couldn’t seem to get rid of. So I started slowly introducing fruits and vegetables into my diet, along with many other healthy items like good fats and healthy oils, and I slowly started letting go of all of the processed foods and I started to really feel better. I noticed that my headaches were going away and not coming back and that I didn’t need the prescription anymore and that I was sleeping through the night and I really didn’t feel depressed anymore. The only thing I had changed in my life was what I ate. That was the it! I changed what I ate and I felt better. When I slipped back into my old eating habits, guess what, I started feeling horrible again. So I knew the foods I was eating were making me feel bad. I am now 80% raw and I love the way I now eat and feel.


I believe we all want to be healthier, we just do not know where to start or how to go about changing our foods. If we take just one meal a day to start with and take it one day at a time, we can succeed in making changes in our eating habits that will help us feel better and will help us become healthier.
